How to Organise a Novena on Twitter
This is a suggested way to organise a Novena on Twitter.
Decide on the Novena you want to use and either save a link to it or send the prayer or a link to it to me (DM me for an email address) and I will post it here.
Announce the Novena on twitter: what or whom it's for, where the text can be found. Ask those who wish to let you know if they would like a daily reminder.
Send a link to the announcement to the people in the box below on the right, all of whom have asked to be informed whenever a Novena is to be said on Twitter, asking whether they would like a daily reminder.
(What follows is what I do: happy to post alternatives, especially better alternatives.)
Create an Outlook appointment for the nine days with the text of your tweet, which should contain the addressees, the Day the Novena has reached and a link to the text. All you need do then is go through the appointments one by one changing the date.
An example is:
@CCFather @louiseallain @MenAreLikeWine1 @dilysetc @LibbyMag @sitsio @73books Novena Day 4 http://ttonys-blog.blogspot.co.uk/2016/08/novena-to-saint-joachim-and-saint-ann.html
If this takes you past 140 characters simply put the text of two tweets in:
@CCFather @louiseallain @MenAreLikeWine1 @dilysetc @LibbyMag @sitsio @73books Novena Day 4 http://ttonys-blog.blogspot.co.uk/2016/08/novena-to-saint-joachim-and-saint-ann.html
@AthanasiusII @idlerambler @pattif21 @matermari @BattlementClare @PartTimePilgrim Novena Day 4http://ttonys-blog.blogspot.co.uk/2016/08/novena-to-saint-joachim-and-saint-ann.html
This is a very prescriptive way of doing things but it works. Please feel free to send me alternatives and I'll post them here.

Novena For The Pope To Reaffirm Catholic Teaching On Marriage
On 18 January 2017, the ancient feast of the Chair of Saint Peter in Rome,Tomash Peta, Metropolitan Archbishop of the archdiocese of Saint Mary in Astana, Jan Pawel Lenga, Archbishop-Bishop emeritus of Karaganda, and Athanasius Schneider, Auxiliary Bishop of the archdiocese of Saint Mary in Astana issued an appeal to prayer: that Pope Francis might confirm the unchanging praxis of the Church with regard to the truth of the indissolubility of marriage.
At its end, they ask for prayer:
In the spirit of faith and with filial and devout affection we raise our prayer for Pope Francis:
"Oremus pro Pontifice nostro Francisco: Dominus conservet eum, et vivificet eum, et beatum faciat eum in terra, et non tradat eum in animam inimicorum eius. Tu es Petrus, et super hanc petram aedificabo Ecclesiam Meam, et portae inferi non praevalebunt adversus eam."
As a concrete means we recommend to recite every day this ancient prayer of the Church or a part of the holy rosary in the intention that Pope Francis may revoke in an unequivocal manner those pastoral guidelines, which permit the divorced and so-called “remarried” to receive the sacraments of Penance and Eucharist without asking them to fulfil the obligation of a life in continence.
Let us say this as a Novena: in Latin, if you want, or in English:
Let us pray for Francis our Pope.
May the Lord preserve him and give him life, and make him blessed on the earth, and not deliver him to the will of his enemies.
Thou art Peter,and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hell will not prevail against her.
